HOW TO PRICE YOUR CREATIVE SERVICE/OFFER
So you just started your creative business or you have been in business a while and are ready to update your pricing. I totally get it! Where to begin, right? Well, you have come to the right place. Let's bring some clarity to creating and setting your offer prices with a simple three-step process.
STEP 1: Decide on a type of offer or service
There are three options when choosing what type of service to offer...
RETAINER
You have a contract set for usually three months at a time and get paid a flat rate each month.
PACKAGE
A set package or program. You decide how long and what it will include.
HOURLY
You decide on an hourly rate and get paid per hour.
STEP 2: Research and testing
Ask yourself the following questions.
What are others in your niche charging? What is the lowest price point? What is the highest?
Where do you currently fall within this scale? (This can change based on experience and client results)
Set a price you would feel comfortable with then 2x that price. (We tend to charge less than we actually are worth)
STEP 3: Set an income goal then create your offer
Ask yourself the following questions.
How much do you need to make monthly to feel comfortable leaving your 9-5? How much would you ideally like to make per month/year?
What is your specialization? What skills or knowledge do you have to offer? List them all.
Create your offer based on your desired income and preferred skillsets. Ask, how many clients would I need total to hit this goal?
